Of course, being a member of Eyott isn’t just about the sailing, there’s a social side to the club as well.
We run various types of events throughout the year including Chinese / Indian / fish and chips take-away nights, quizzes and BBQ’s at the club house and our more formal end of season dinner “The Laying Up Supper and prize giving” in November.
The first event of the year is the “At Home” food evening held at a member’s house, normally the Commodore.
Our Fitting out Supper is held in March. This is an evening meal the day before the first race of the season. This year club members were well looked after by the staff at Yatsin in South Woodham Ferrers. We enjoyed a 3-course Chinese meal with a selection of delicious starters, followed by crispy duck pancakes and a variety of specialist dishes with rice and noodles.
